The Alabama Freshwater Fishing report is your best resource for the
Lake Guntersville Fishing Report, Weiss Lake Fishing Report, Lake
Eufaula Fishing Report, and all the creeks, rivers, and reservoirs
in between.
On this week’s episode, we’ll be checking in with some of our local Alabama Waterkeeper organizations to see how our fisheries are doing. If you’re an outdoors enthusiast who swims, jetskis, tubes, or fishes in our water, organizations like Coosa Riverkeeper and Mobile Baykeeper do a phenomenal job of keeping you up-to-date on whether it’s safe to swim and eat the fish from our waterways.
First up, we have Justinn Overton with Coosa Riverkeepers reporting on the Coosa RIver. Justinn monitors the waterways around Weiss Lake, Logan Martin Lake, Lake Jordan, Lay Lake, and Neely-Henry. She’s an avid outdoorswoman and environmentalist that has the information you need to know to keep you and your family safe while you’re out on the Coosa Lake Systems this weekend.
Next up, we have Cade Kistler with Mobile Baykeepers. Cade keeps track of the health of
the Mobile-Tensaw Delta, Mobile Bay, Dog River, Fowl RIver, Perdido
River, and many other waterways throughout Baldwin and Mobile
Counties. Whether you’re a local or just visiting our bay and
beaches for the weekend, Cade has the report on the issues or
beautiful coastal waters face.
In this week’s show we talk PCB pollution, bacteria loads, and the
current issue with our state’s plan to leave billions of tons of
coal ash along the shoreline of our lakes and rivers. We talk about
the issues
coal ash can cause anglers,
and
what you can do to help.
